15+ Eco Friendly Gifts for a New Mom on Mother’s Day

Mother’s Day is upon us, and I never know what to get my own mother. She’s at the time in her life where she’s an empty nester, makes good money, and buys herself whatever she wants when she wants it. I end up getting her some sort of spa type experience because she deserves a day to relax. However, I’m not at that stage of life just yet. I’m currently in the season of young babies and wild toddlers. Naturally, gifts for a new mom are always going to be different for a more seasoned one.

What does a new mother want for Mother’s Day?

Honestly, things that make her feel pretty and good about herself. Products that make her smell good and not like such a hot mess which totally happens when there are babies around. It may sound superficial, but I definitely was always the last on the priority list of being taken care of.

Gifts that are going to help her life and keep her organized if she’s a planner or a homemaker.

Items that ease her new motherhood as much at it can be.

I’ve compiled of list of ideas for new moms specifically because we are still treading our other and a token of appreciated is thoughtful on any day of the year!

Here are just a few idea gifts for Mother’s Day, for new moms, or moms still with young children. Most are under $35 which is a great frugal living bonus! Some are items I got the MOST use out of when I had my first and still am using with my second. Others, I’d just personally love to have as a natural living/zero waste parent, they’d make my life a little simpler and bit more beautiful.

Self Care Gift Ideas

I never really liked skin care or a ’beauty regiment’ until I had a baby. Then it all changed and it was the most glorious four minutes of my day as a new mom. Maybe mom in question enjoys a few minutes of beauty time to herself. These are good ones for her!

Wooden scoops – One less dish to do if the scoop stays in its bulk canister! Plus, they add aesthetic charm to the kitchen!

Bulk canisters/ crocks – I got one of these for my birthday last year and I wish I had six more of them.

Planner -I found this artist on Pinterest, of course, and her simple notebooks and stationery is simply lovely!

Insulated tumbler by Klean Kanteen -Chances are she may have one of these already, but how long has she had it? Could it be time for a sustainable upgrade? Summer is coming and we need to keep that mama hydrated!

A few other ideas could be natural room spray, beeswax scented candles, nice apron, or you can’t go wrong with a plant!

Gifts for Mom plus baby

These were my saving grace with my newborns. I used them all day every day and still do with my second son! If she doesn’t have one of these or something similar, now is a great time because lots of companies are having sales!

Solly Baby Wrap– I LIVE IN THIS IN THE SUMMER. I carry my babies all day long until they want to just walk right out of it, and this is the most comfortable wrap I have. It super lightweight and durable for bigger babies, which I had. One of my favorite things in my home for sure.

Dockatot – Our family co sleeps and this was perfect for us. I used it when traveling, I use it as a changing station when they get a bit older, and even an assisted sitting spot!

HaloVa diaper bag – If you want a diaper bag that is unisex, can fit EVERYTHING, and more… this is the diaper bag for you! I have one and I may not ever get rid of it simply because its so darn useful!

Pacifier clip– This may seem like a random gift but it’s not! If her baby uses a pacifier, then that baby no doubt spits that pacifier out! The clip makes it easier on her because then she doesn’t have to put the baby down, find the paci, wash it off and repeat the process in two minutes!

Woven market basket bag– Its famers market season, and nothing says spring and summer like a beautiful woven market bag!

A majority of these products I have personally tried, still use, and ALWAYS recommend when asked. This mothers day treat your mom to something that makes her life just that much better. Furthermore, if you can help the planet out a little while your at it, why not?!

What are some previous gifts you’ve given that your mom really enjoyed?

Let’s try to give something useful, thoughtful and functional to those who brought us into this world!

In gratitude,

Tayler
